It is said that the Virgin Mary appeared to a shepherd named Finardo who was crying over the death of a goat. The Virgin took pity on him and brought the animal back to life in exchange for a church to be built on the site.
The construction of the chapel was completed in the 18th century. Inside it houses a carving of the Virgin of Chilla and some ceramic panels that tell the story of this 14th century story.
